Data Platform on Microsoft Fabric: migration, build and operations from one team.

One body of data instead of many copies: we build the foundation right once, with OneLake and Lakehouse, centrally governed permissions, automated deployments and cost control. Whether your reports sit in another BI tool today, you run a data warehouse, or you have no reliable platform yet: the destination is Microsoft Fabric. We have deliberately committed to it: that is where our projects and certifications are. Sources and legacy systems can be anything. The route runs in waves, alongside day-to-day business.

Since 2016, as an owner-managed team, we have built and run data platforms for organisations. Our goal: in the end, your team runs the platform on its own.

Every starting point has its own entry. The destination stays the same; the work before it differs.

Front-end move: from your BI tool to Power BI

You use Tableau, Qlik or another BI tool and want to move to Power BI on Fabric. The data layer moves with it. The heavy parts are translating the reports, planning the waves and enabling your developers. We only move what is used. Example: Telefónica Germany, 1,000 reports, 300 employees, eleven months during live operation.

Back-end replacement: from data warehouse to Lakehouse

Your data warehouse runs on Synapse, SQL Server, SSIS or SSAS, or another common platform. We translate data models and load processes into a Lakehouse with Direct Lake, mirror sources where that is more efficient than a load process, run both worlds in parallel, switch over and switch off. Example: from a Synapse dedicated pool to the Lakehouse, from a cube to Direct Lake.

New platform: from scattered extracts to a platform

Extracts are scattered, reports connect directly to the sources, and a reliable data warehouse is missing. We design the target architecture, connect the sources and proceed business unit by business unit, so something usable exists early. Typical case: a mid-sized company with an ERP system and an Excel landscape.

Our approach: three phases, whatever the entry point.

Platform projects stall at two points: at the start, when everything is taken along without an inventory, and at the end, when the in-house team is left out. So we begin with figures and stop only when your team carries the platform.

Assess

Foundation, estate, target architecture

Target state, cost estimate and security baseline come first. We survey the estate: reports and their usage, objects and load processes, or the source systems and the KPI requirements. A pilot proves the architecture on real data. The result is a migration plan with scope, waves and deadlines. Only then do you decide.

Build

In waves, alongside day-to-day business

Fabric capacity and workspaces are created as code, the data layer is built or moved, and semantic models and reports follow in waves. The old and new worlds run in parallel until the numbers match. Each wave is reconciled and signed off by the business unit.

Care

Handover, hypercare, switch-off

Your developers work alongside us in every wave and take over step by step. An operations manual, an architecture review after go-live and hypercare secure the transition. On the agreed date the old platform is switched off. If you wish, we stay at your side in operations.

What we deliver: from assessment to operations.

Services

Three building blocks, bookable individually and designed to fit together: first the basis for the decision, then delivery, then operations.

Migration assessment

The fact-based inventory: sources, target state, cost estimate and a pilot on real data. You receive a migration plan with scope, waves and deadlines and are free to decide who implements it.

Migration and platform build

Foundation, design, migration in waves and handover in one project. The size depends on what drives the effort: reports, objects and load processes, or sources and business units. We agree the scope with you before the start.

Managed Fabric

We manage capacity and cost, monitor the platform, deliver a monthly report, maintain deployments, make small changes and review the status with you every quarter. Predictable month by month.

Foundation

A platform project is finished when it runs without us: with a team that understands the platform and an old world nobody pays for any more.

Target architecture without a rebuild

Lakehouse with Direct Lake is our standard because it is more future-proof than a rebuilt warehouse. Sources are mirrored where that is simpler than a load process. We come from corporate landscapes and tell you which shortcut will cost you later.

Governance from the start

Permissions, cost control of capacities and automated deployments are part of it from the beginning. That keeps the platform manageable after the project and ready for Copilot and agents.

Enablement of your team

Your development team migrates alongside us in every wave on your actual workloads. That way knowledge grows where it belongs.

A data foundation that reporting and AI run on. At these companies we built it:

An electrifying new beginning – establishing a daily, automated reporting system based on SAP data in a global energy technology company
How a sporting goods manufacturer keeps an eye on the competition, and on itself
Centralised, company-wide reporting for a logistics service provider
Analysing customer behaviour on a social network platform
Performance optimisation through data engineering and dashboard redesign for an international pharmaceutical group

Ten years of platform experience, a Microsoft-certified team.

Proven expertise

Microsoft awards the Solutions Partner designation for Data & AI on the basis of proven projects, certified people and customer success. Held several times across the team: PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst, DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer and DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer.

Ten years of data platforms

Since 2016 we have built data platforms and reporting for large enterprises and mid-sized companies: integration, modelling, operations. That is why we know the source systems you want to replace and recognise what is not worth migrating.

No lock-in. Not even with us.

Everything is built in your environment, runs under your licences and is documented so that your team or another partner could take over. Working with us for the long term should always remain a deliberate choice.

Let's talk about your data platform.

Tell us where you are and what you want to replace or build. We will get back to you shortly with an initial assessment.

You talk directly to our managing directors. In a half-hour initial call we assess your starting point, target state and effort.
