Fabric Data Engineer (m/f/d)

You build data platforms on Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouse with Direct Lake, migration of BI landscapes and data warehouses, new builds for business units. You work in waves, alongside our customers’ day-to-day business, and in the end hand over a platform the customer team runs itself.

The platform is also the foundation our agents run on. Good data work is the lever for everything else here.

Get started with us at Haavest

You have at least three years of experience in data engineering, are confident in SQL and Python or PySpark, and have built lakehouse platforms, for example on Fabric, Synapse or Databricks. You know your way around semantic models and Power BI.

A certification such as Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-600) or Fabric Data Engineer (DP-700) is welcome. If you do not have one yet, you will earn it in your first months with us, and we cover the cost.

You translate data models and load processes instead of merely copying them, and decide with operations and cost in mind. You work confidently in German and English and defend your solution in front of the customer as well.

Work environment

You work in an agile way with experienced colleagues in data engineering, architecture and AI, and directly with the management. We are owner-managed and have a clear focus: Microsoft Fabric as the data platform and AI agents on top. You get real responsibility instead of micromanagement and short paths instead of a jungle of responsibilities.

Sowing tasks

Foundation and target architecture

You set up Fabric capacity and workspaces as code, build permissions centrally and automate deployments. The standard is the lakehouse with Direct Lake.

Migration in waves

You translate data models and load processes from Synapse, SQL Server data warehouses or other platforms, mirror sources where that is more efficient, and run the old and new worlds in parallel until the numbers match. You reconcile each wave and have the business unit sign it off.

Handover and enablement

You work side by side with the customer’s developers, write the operations manual and accompany go-live until the old platform is switched off.
